Good news for hungry Upper Haighters: DragonEats, the fast-casual Vietnamese restaurant with locations in Hayes Valley and SoMa, debuted its much-anticipated Haight Street location today.

The new spot takes the place of the former Sunrise Deli location at 1671 Haight St. Though regulars bemoaned the loss of their go-to falafel shop, Sunrise owner Khaled Ramadan told us in October that it was the right move to close down and focus his attention elsewhere.

DragonEats is wallet-friendly, offering an array of Vietnamese street food for $6-$7 an item, including banh mi, fresh rolls, green salads, and signature "fresh bowls" with a choice of roasted pork, 5-spices chicken, or teriyaki tofu. (Here's the menu.)

DragonEats employee Aaron told us that they opened around noon today, to a brisk crowd, and would be open until 6pm. Hours will be 11am-6pm daily.

"Is Haight Street going to be a decent place to eat again, finally?" commenter Vegetarian Taliban asked when we broke the news of Dragoneats' new location. That's up for you to decide, so swing by to check out the new addition and let us know what you think in the comments.
