Local activist and environmental attorney Jon Golinger today wrote an op-ed piece in the San Francisco Chronicle urging the city to reform the Port Commission. With the recent resignation of Port Executive Director Monique Moyer, he said the time is ripe to put on the ballot the 2014 Grand Jury recommendation to divide the appointments of the five Commissioners and director between the mayor and the Board of Supervisors, "as is done with other important city bodies."
