The topic of the Castro gradually becoming less gay is nothing new, but today's Guardian article tackles the topic once again, noting that the locals have noticed the "gayborhood" attracting more straight people (including, as activist Cleve Jones stated, "big, loud, butch ... tech bros" at the The Mix).

Opinions on the matter vary, with Hank Cancel (of the Castro's Barbie Window) noting that the Castro is more "professional gay" now, and local realtor Steve Huang observing that gays "don’t necessarily want to live in any specific neighborhood anymore," as well as echoing a common opinion that the new SoulCycle is, at least, better than the proposed male strip club Randy Rooster, which would have attracted bachelorette parties aplenty.
