In a twist no one saw coming, the French nuns who were previously at risk of losing the tiny Tenderloin soup kitchen where they both live and feed the homeless have been saved, at least temporarily, by motivational speaker and self-help guru Tony Robbins. 

The Chronicle reports that Robbins, after hearing of the 60 percent rent hike which could force the nuns into the street, stopped by the Fraternite Notre Dame Mary of Nazareth Soup Kitchen at 54 Turk St. yesterday for a "sympathy visit to business seminar to, finally, mutual admiration fest" which ended with Robbins giving the nuns a check for $25,000.

Their landlord has agreed to grant the nuns another year without raising the rent, and Robbins says he'll give them $25,000 more within the year to help them move to a new location. Read more here.
