Signs Of Life At Castro's Long-Delayed Hamburger Mary's?The Patio space in August. (Photo: Steven Bracco/Hoodline)

Could the former Patio space at 531 Castro St. finally—finally!—be progressing towards reopening as a location of Hamburger Mary's?

"[I] walked by Hamburger Mary's on Castro Street yesterday and noticed new furniture has been delivered," reports tipster Bryan G. "Today, the doors are open and [it] looks like more stuff is being delivered. Could this be a sign it's finally going to open soon?"

Back in AugustAshley Wright, who owns the Castro Hamburger Mary's franchise with his twin brother Brandon and their business partner, Dale Warner, told us that "we are working on it," adding that "it has been a slow process."

We're looking into it further, but let us know if you see more signs of life that may indicate that the space, which has been vacant since 1999, may finally be put to use.

(Update: as commenters have noted, the activity may be related to the upcoming Castro CBD anniversary party and Castro Cares fundraiser on March 13th.)
