San Francisco's first on-street mural is underway on Fell Street, outside Madrone Art Bar. The mural will become part of a new bicycle corral being installed in the former vehicle parking space.

The artwork is by Kristin Farr, whose work you may recognize from her similarly colorful temporary mural at 6th and Market streets. While the project has been planned for some time, the mural had to wait for a window of time free from the threat of possible El NiƱo rain.

The bike corral is being installed by the SFMTA, but the mural is privately funded by Michael "Spike" Krouse, the owner of Madrone, which is known for its rotating exhibits and support for the arts.
