Upper Haight Crime: Drug Arrests, Traffic Busts And MorePhoto: Todd Lapin/Flickr

It's been a relatively quiet month in the Haight, with no especially violent incidents to report, thankfully. As promised, weed-related arrests continue apace ... but no word on whether Park Station's dog-leash enforcement project has led to further citations after a month-long effort

Read on for what went down this month around the neighborhood, as gleaned from SFPD reports and Park Station's regular email.

On March 7th, a 29-year-old man went to sleep at around 1:45am at his residence on the 1400 block of Page Street. He awoke at 7:30am to find the front door open, and a window adjacent to the fire escape left ajar. Laptops, a smart TV console and a wallet were missing.

On March 14th, four arrests were made for marijuana sales along Haight Street, from Cole to Stanyan. And on March 19th, a sit/lie violation prompted a citation at Haight & Cole.

At 2:48pm on March 20th, a man who matched the description of a robbery suspect fled after officers approached him in Golden Gate Park. Officers chased the subject on foot and arrested him after discovering "a plethora of narcotics."

While stopped at a stop sign near Alvord Lake on the night of March 21st, "officers observed a drug deal right in front of them." Officers arrested the marijuana seller and issued a citation to the buyer.

The next afternoon, also at Alvord Lake, officers saw someone loitering who they knew had a stay-away order, which they confirmed and then arrested the subject.

Meanwhile, a traffic enforcement sting on March 22nd saw 12 citations issued for failing to yield to a pedestrian, all in the area of Stanyan and Beulah.

The very next day, on the afternoon of March 23rd, officers noticed a person "smoking illegal narcotics" near Alvord Lake. They arrested the person for possession with the intent to sell after discovering "a wide variety of illegal drugs, scales and empty baggies."

On March 24th at 4:30pm, four men in their early 20s approached a 31-year-old man on Hippie Hill, punched him, and took his backpack and shoes. The victim sustained a cut to his nose; no arrest has been made. Park Station shared a bit more info in its recent newsletter: The "victim told officers he was minding his own business and smoking marijuana when some unknown assailant attacked him and stole his belongings, including the marijuana."

The next Park Station community meeting will be on Tuesday, April 12th at 6pm in the station's community room at 1899 Waller St.
