Upper Haighter Susan Strolis Honored For Alvord Lake Clean-Up EffortsPhoto via London Breed/Facebook

Susan Strolis, who runs the Nextdoor group Friends of Alvord Lake and organizes monthly clean-ups of the area, was given a certificate of honor for her hard work from Supervisor London Breed for Women's History Month.

Heres what Supervisor Breed had to say about Strolis, whose work we've highlighted before, on her Facebook page

For this year's Women's History Month, I had the honor of recognizing Susan Strolis, an active community member of the Haight Ashbury neighborhood! Susan has been a renter in the Haight Ashbury for the past 31 years. She is a selfless, passionate community advocate, who works tirelessly to improve our neighborhood as an active member of the Haight Ashbury Improvement Association. Every month, she organizes her neighbors to help clean up the area surrounding Alvord Lake. We are extremely lucky to have her in the District!

Congrats, Susan! (As a reminder, we're soliciting ideas for people you think are doing good in the community, right here.)
