Flower lovers take note: the San Francisco Botanical Garden is predicting an unusually bountiful year for flowers, due to the plentiful rain this winter. Nina Sazevich, spokesperson for the Botanical Garden, says the heavy blooms will begin in early April and extend through the year; notable blooms include iris, red poppies, Puya chilensis, pincushion proteas, and an array of butterfly- and hummingbird-attracting flowers.

Rain is in the forecast again for Sunday, so Saturday's your chance to get outside, whether you're seeking early-spring blooms or want to pitch in on tomorrow's Buena Vista Park cleanup day.

Once the rain arrives, seek shelter with a free show at Amoeba on Sunday afternoon, or stay indoors with a variety of live music, lectures, nude drawing and more.
