Picturing The Western Addition, Then & NowPhotos: Rick Marr/Hoodline

Recently, we've looked at the tumultuous story of urban renewal and its aftermath in the Fillmore. Today, with some help from the SFMTA's Historical Photo Archive, we bring you a look at how the Western Addition's streets and houses looked in the early 20th century, after the 1906 earthquake brought new residents to the neighborhood, but before the changes of the 1950s, '60s and '70s.

We juxtaposed those old photos with shots of the neighborhood from today, so take a look at what's changed over the course of the last century:
