Chinese Hospital Cuts Ribbon Today; Full Opening Expected In September

Published on April 18, 2016

SF Public Works director Mohammed Nuru tweeted today from the ribbon cutting of the new Chinese Hospital at 845 Jackson St. in Chinatown.

SFGate reported that the 8-story, $180 million building stands on the spot of the original hospital dating from 1925, "at a time when Chinese residents were often barred from obtaining health care elsewhere." It also stated the hospital won't be fully functional until September.
