You may recall a bit of a commotion in the Lower Haight last week, as Danny Glover dropped into Two Jacks/Nik's Place to film a campaign video for Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders. Glover, who grew up in the Haight, is childhood friends with the father of Two Jacks owner Nikki Cooper.

Now, the video is out, with Glover explaining how he got his start in activism when he was a student at SF State. "We initiated the longest campus strike in history to create the School of Ethnic Studies," he explains, saying that he supports Sanders for his early participation in the civil-rights movement and for his "agenda of economic justice."

Glover isn't the only vocal Sanders supporter around town: a Hillary Clinton fundraiser in Nob Hill on Friday (which was hosted by George Clooney and his wife Amal) drew over 100 protesters, many of them carrying signs indicating their support for Sanders.

Clinton has been endorsed by a number of local and national celebrities as well, including former SF mayors Dianne Feinstein and Gavin Newsom. Most of the city's current elected officials (including Nancy Pelosi) have yet to endorse a candidate, but as the June 7th California primaries approach, it's likely more endorsements will arrive from San Franciscans on both sides of the aisle.
