It's been warm and sunny in North Beach this week, and while temperatures may be looking cooler for this weekend—with the possibility of a little rain—there's no shortage of fun things to do in the neighborhood.

For starters, Hollywood is descending upon us this weekend, with Hulu filming a new original series called "Chance" around Washington Square and Columbus Avenue on Friday. House fans will rejoice to know that Hugh Laurie is the lead, but be careful if you come to check out the shoot; Film SF told us that they will be filming a "violent fight scene" with actors and stunt professionals. But have no fear, SFPD will be there to ensure everyone's safety. Hi-ya!

If you're looking for some laughs, check out The Imaginary Radio Program at Doc's Lab (124 Columbus Ave.) hosted by Drennon Davis, a hilarious comedian known for his "elaborate characters and provocative songs." The show starts at 9pm, and tickets run $10–12.

As everyone knows, North Beach is famous for its pasta purveyors. But if you're looking for a change of pace for your noodle fix, Kan Ramen has just soft-opened on Columbus Avenue. Try the tonkotsu ramen, a house-made pork broth with locally sourced, organic veggies (and fresh noodles, of course).

In other local food news, Tony Gemignani, proprietor and pizzaiolo extraordinaire, took home his 12th first place win in the Pizza in Pala division at the Campionato Mondiale Della Pizza competition, held in Parma, Italy. We're told that he'll be serving his award-winning pizza at his flagship restaurant on select days on a limited basis, so call ahead to get your chance to taste this masterpiece.

And if you're thirsty this Sunday after all of that good eating, stop by Specs' 12 Adler Museum Cafe to celebrate the popular dive bar's 48th anniversary. Spirits will be flowing from 5pm–2am.
