Pedestrian In Critical Condition After Collision At Hyde & McAllisterPhoto: Google Maps

A collision yesterday afternoon at Hyde and McAllister streets sent a pedestrian to the hospital in critical condition.

According to "preliminary details" released by the SFPD, a vehicle was traveling southbound on Hyde around 4pm when it struck a 22-year-old woman who "ran into the crosswalk westbound from McAllister." The woman suffered life-threatening injuries to the head and spine.

The SFPD has not stated whether the traffic signals at the intersection were in favor of the driver or pedestrian. The driver did remain on the scene following the collision.

This is the second collision on McAllister this week. On Monday, a 20-year-old driver suffered serious injuries after colliding with another vehicle turning into the Civic Center Garage on the 300 block of McAllister.
