The SFPD is investigating the death of a man—found at 2:21am this morning on the 500 block of Eddy Street, between Hyde and Larkin—as a homicide.

Update, 4/28: The victim has been identified as 53-year-old John Thompson Jr. of Stockton, the Chronicle reports. Thompson was found with a stab wound to the neck and pronounced dead on the scene.

While the victim's identity has not been disclosed, police say he was in his 40s and pronounced dead on arrival. Details on the cause of death, or any suspects in the case, have not been disclosed.

This is the second homicide in the area this week. SFPD is also investigating the death of a man at Larkin and McAllister streets, near the Asian Art Museum, around 2am on Thursday, April 21st. That victim was identified as 39-year-old Kito Fields of Oakland.
