4-Story Condo Development Still Bound For Lombard & DivisaderoRenderings: J.S. Sullivan via SF Planning

Earlier this week, we updated readers on the new condo building headed to the defunct gas station at 1598 Bay St. That reminded us to check in on another neighborhood condo project, this one headed to 2444 Lombard St.

As of a Curbed report in the fall of 2014, developer J.S. Sullivan was exploring the possibility of razing the building that currently houses pet store Wolf & Lion and constructing 53 new condos above 11,000 square feet of retail. And since then? Not a peep.

We checked in with the Planning Department to see whether the project has been moving forward, and as it turns out, it's still very much alive. Planner Christopher May told us that the project is still being reviewed by Planning staff, and that the project sponsor has requested a tentative planning commission date for August 2016.

There've been some changes to the plans since the PPA that was reported in 2014. Back then, tentative plans called for 18 studios, 18 one-bedrooms, and 15 two-bedrooms, plus two three-story, three-bedroom townhouses and parking for every unit.

The revised plans that are wending their way through Planning propose 41 condo units, 12 less than before, along with 41 parking spaces for residents located behind ground floor retail space, which has been reduced to 3,567 square feet.

These units would still include the pair of three-bedroom townhouses, as well as six one-bedrooms, 30 two-bedrooms, and three additional three-bedroom condos.

No word yet on Wolf & Lion's plans should the development move forward.
