A man in his early twenties was sent to the hospital in critical condition with “deteriorating brain function” early this morning after being attacked by a mob South of Market.

The attack occurred around 2:40am at Harrison and Harriet streets, between Sixth and Seventh. Witnesses told police that 15-30 suspects were seen kicking and punching the victim in the face and body before knocking him unconscious. A glass bottle was also used in the attack.

All of the suspects fled on foot and no arrests have been made.
