Two San Francisco Superior Court lawsuits filed this week are seeking to stop SF Pride from hosting its annual celebration outside City Hall during this year's Pride weekend, the Chron reports.

According to the paper, the lawsuits—which would not affect the Pride Parade—were filed on behalf of three Bay Area residents injured during the festivities in Civic Center Plaza in 2013 and 2015. They allege that the organizing committee has insufficient security protocols, and has ignored recommendations for stepping up security for the celebration.

However, Sam Singer of the SF Pride committee told the Chron that they believe the lawsuits will be dismissed, and the annual celebration will continue. "There have been very few incidents of any sort during the 45 year history of SF Pride — that's what makes this attempt at an injunction so false and misleading," he said. "The few incidents that have occurred have not involved anyone who was part of SF Pride, and they have been on the periphery of the celebration."
