If you haven't already, now is your last chance to comment on the Golden Gate National Recreation Area's proposed dog management rule. Comments close on Wednesday, May 25th at 11:59pm EST—which would be 8:59pm PST here in the Bay Area.

The new rule proposes banning unleashed dogs from much of the GGNRA, which includes Ocean Beach, Fort Funston, Crissy Field, the Presidio, and Baker Beach, with the goal of protecting wildlife. The resulting battle has pitted dog owners against environmentalists, with a series of public meetings around the Bay Area drawing protests—silent and otherwise—from dog owners, and spirited comments from those who supported the proposals.

The National Park Service will make its final decision in December 2016.
