A Memorial Day beach outing turned dangerous when a 13-year-old girl was knocked down by a sneaker wave at Ocean Beach (near Sloat Boulevard) and then pulled out by a rip current.
Police told KRON4 that the teenager was wading in just a few feet of water when the incident occurred. There was a large shore break, with large waves crashing in a shallow area.
