In the wake of two hit-and-run collisions that claimed the life of two women riding bikes this week, another hit-and-run, this time in which a car struck a pedestrian, was reported at 10:40pm Thursday. The collision took place in the busy triple intersection where Columbus Avenue and Stockton and Green streets connect in the heart of North Beach.

SFPD reports that a man, 51, was struck while crossing the street, and the driver fled the scene. The victim was transported to the hospital in serious but not life-threatening condition, according to SFPD Public Information Officer Carlos Manfredi. A man, 26, driving a 2015 Chevrolet sedan, was later arrested. Police have no further details on the case at this time.
