SF Women Artists Seeks Entries For Inner Sunset Banner ContestPhoto: Caitlin Harrington/Hoodline

After winning a $24K grant from the San Francisco Neighborhood Arts Collaborative to celebrate art in the Inner Sunset, San Francisco Women Artists (SFWA) is inviting local artists to submit entries for a juried art banner competition.

Winners will receive $100, and their artwork will be displayed on lamp posts along Irving between 7th and 10th Avenues. Entries will be accepted through August 1st; all submissions must be made online via SFWA's competition portal. There's a $45 fee for each entry, but SFWA members will only pay $35.

Artists are encouraged to submit pieces that incorporate "images of local attractions, flora and fauna, and bold abstracts." Winning entries must be approved by the Planning Commission before they're transferred to 36" x 72" vinyl banners and mounted in the Inner Sunset's commercial district.

32 entries will be selected by judge Eric Rewitzer of 3 Fish Studios and the Inner Sunset Neighborhood Arts Collective, with winners notified by August 6th. For more information, visit the contest entry page.
