Supervisors Delay Vote On Controversial Housing Plan To Next WeekAHBP area map. (Image: via SF Planning)

The Board of Supervisors voted 6-5 on Tuesday to delay a vote on the portion of the proposed Affordable Housing Bonus Plan (AHBP) that would reward developers who build 100 percent affordable housing projects.

Supervisors Katy Tang, Mark Farrell, Scott Weiner, Norman Yee, London Breed and Malia Cohen voted to continue the matter until next week's Board meeting. The vote indicates how closely divided the body is regarding the AHBP; Sups. Aaron Peskin and Eric Mar, who have prepared a rival 100 percent affordable proposal, voted with Sups. David Campos, John Avalos and Jane Kim.

"I have no idea" if the measure will pass the full Board next week, Tang told us. "Just in preparation" for a loss, she's preparing a ballot proposition for the November election that would give voters a chance to weigh in on her proposal, which would let developers who create 100 percent affordable housing add up to three extra floors.

We reached out to Peskin's office, but a representative in his office said he had no comment at this time.

Next week's vote on the AHBP will take place at 2pm on June 28th in City Hall's Legislative Chamber, Room 250.
