The New Fillmore, the neighborhood newspaper covering the intersection of the Fillmore, Japantown and Pacific Heights since 1986, published its June Issue this week. Here's a quick look at the top stories.

Upcoming condos at 2121 Webster St. are making a splash. "The Pacific" is a 76-unit luxury condo building, featuring such perks as valet service in the garage, a yoga fitness studio, and units that feature soaring ceilings, Italian fixtures and large glass windows. So far the list of rumored buyers is star-studded: Peter Buffet, Michelle Pfeiffer, Susan Sarandon and Gwyneth Paltrow are all said to have stopped by for a look, but none have been confirmed. Learn more about the building, its marketing tactics, and its multi-million-dollar units here.

Down the street, Pacific Heights Health Club is facing an altogether different issue: a steep rent hike. The club opened in 1984 (for men only) at  2356 Pine St. In 1990, a new owner changed the rules and opened the space up for women. The club has evolved significantly over the years, and now, faced with a financial challenge, it may have to change again. One way might be to cater to an older crowd, offering classes and resources for those over 50. You can read more about the programs here.

Music venue The Fillmore has been serving up live performances to crowds for decades, and with that tenure comes a long line of concert posters.  Arlene Owseichik takes a close look at the artists who've made the posters, which are handed out for free at the end of each show. In more Fillmore venue news, the Contemporary Jewish Museum is hosting an exhibition on founder Bill Graham, running through July 5th. The music entrepreneur helped many bands get famous, including Grateful Dead, Santana and Janis Joplin. Find more details on the show here.

Several screenings from DocFest, part of the yearly SFIndieFest, will be taking place this month at The Vogue Theater on Sacramento Street. Movies being screened at the theater include 14 Minutes from Earth, The Million Dollar Duck and Daughters of the Forest. Check out the full lineup here.

Last but not least, The New Fillmore is celebrating its 30th anniversary this month. Founding editor and publisher David Ish put out the first issue in June of 1986.  Barbara Kate Repa and Thomas R. Reynolds took over the paper in 2006—so it's also their ten-year anniversary of running the paper.

While The New Fillmore is fully available online for free (PDF), you can also get it in print if you live in its distribution area, or pay a small fee for a mail-order copy
