Earlier this week an unknown vandal spray painted a racial slur across the fronts of three houses on the 2400 block of Fulton St., famously home of the Jefferson Airplane mansion.

The vandalism comes right on the heels of the "die yuppie scum" tags scrawled on the face of a forthcoming Outer Sunset brewpub, but with an explicitly racist—and far more sinister—slant.

Before being taped over or painted over while awaiting abatement, the graffiti read "nigger."

The graffiti has been either painted over or covered up temporarily.

The vandalism didn't make it into this weeks SFPD Park Station police roundup of reported incidents and arrests, and appears not to be under active investigation.

This incident follows another racial slur graffiti incident in Duboce Triangle last fall, which did result in an arrest but only thanks to recordings from a private security camera, which was in absence on the Fulton St. homes.

Three separate homes were hit in this round of vandalism, much of which was on stone or concrete surfaces not easily cleaned.

Of course, we'll keep you posted in the event of a related arrest. If you see similar vandalism in action, call the police's non-emergency number, 415-533-0123, with a description of the suspect.
