Back in May, we reported that Crepe La Vie would be departing Second Act's marketplace and that a new tenant would be on the horizon. Today, we got word that San Francisco-based start-up Volcano Kimchi is moving in. We reached out to owner Aruna Lee to learn more.

Lee was born in South Korea, and moved to San Francisco in 2001. She worked in media until 2014, when she started Volcano Kimchi. The company's mission is to use locally sourced, non-GMO and organic ingredients to make quality, handmade, sugar-free kimchi.

Currently, you can find a variety of Volcano Kimchi flavors, like organic jicama and radish, at a few retailers across the city (Bi-Rite, Rainbow Grocery, etc.). While the stall at Second Act will sell kimchi, it'll also offer "authentic and innovative Korean-themed meals inspired by the vibrant street food scene in Korea," Lee said in an email.

Volcano Kimchi isn't set to open up shop until August, but Lee will be around Second Act in the meantime, scoping out her new turf.

"I haven't set the space up yet but want to get a jump on meeting customers and introducing them to my product," Lee said.

Welcome to the neighborhood, Volcano Kimchi!
