Momi Toby's To Close, New Champagne Bar 'The Riddler' Moving InPhoto: Reginald McDonald/Hoodline

Last summer, we caught word that Momi Toby's Revolution Cafe was for sale (again), and now it appears a buyer has been found. New owner Jen Pelka has confirmed that a new champagne-focused bar will replace Momi Toby's at 528 Laguna St.; according to a liquor license application, the new bar will be called "The Riddler."

"I'm thrilled to be opening something in Hayes Valley, the neighborhood that I live in with my fiancee [Charles Bililies], who owns Souvla," said Pelka, who also runs restaurant PR firm Magnum. "We have come to love the Hayes Valley community and I'm very excited to be part of it."

Details on the new space are slim at the moment, though Pelka tells us the name of the LLC, Hey Ladies, is due to the fact that the investor base is comprised of 100 percent women.

Momi Toby's has occupied the space at 528 Laguna St. since 1993, and has undergone several ownership changes over the years. Anthony Shou, the current owner, told us last year when he listed the business that he was hoping to find a young buyer, perhaps a first-time business owner, with a vision for the space.

There's no word yet on when Momi Toby's will close, but we'll keep you posted. In the meantime, swing by for their very extensive selection of bottled beer, which they've expanded in the past few months.
