Weekend Traffic & Transit Delays: SF Marathon, BART Closures, MoreImage: Courtesy of Phil Thompson

If you're getting around the city this weekend, prepare for something of a perfect storm of traffic and transit delays: with a Giants homestand, the SF Marathon, Up Your Alley, and the first weekend of a major BART closure all occurring at once, things are going to get a little quirky.

The most notable closures will be for the marathon, with many of them commencing when the clock strikes midnight on Saturday evening. Most notably, northbound Embarcadero/King Street will be closed from 3rd Street to Broadway, southbound Embarcadero will be closed from Broadway to Harrison, Third Street will be closed from 20th to 25th Street, and there will be huge delays on the Golden Gate Bridge. But a huge swath of the city's neighborhoods will see delays, from the Mission to the Richmond to the Upper and Lower Haight. Here's the full list of closures.

The marathon will also affect the following Muni routes: E Embarcadero, 6 Haight/Parnassus, 7 Haight/Noriega, 22 Fillmore, 24 Divisadero, 28 19th Avenue, 29 Sunset, 33 Ashbury/18th Street, 37 Corbett, 43 Masonic, 44 O’Shaughnessy, 48 Quintara/24th Street, 55 16th Street and Metro Owl.

If you're trying to travel to or from Daly City and anywhere south of it (including the airport), this is also going to be a tough weekend: BART is launching the first of seven planned weekend closures, with shuttle buses running between Glen Park and Daly City stations while the tracks are repaired. SFO and Millbrae passengers are being advised to add a full hour of extra time to their trip. Here's BART's full guide to the closures.

As for SoMa, the Giants will cause some of the usual traffic backup around AT&T Park when they play the Nationals at 7:15pm tonight and 1:05pm Saturday and Sunday. And alongside the marathon closures, Up Your Alley, the Folsom Street Fair's sister festival, will close chunks of Folsom and 10th streets from 11am-6pm on Sunday, causing some route changes for the 9 San Bruno, 12 Folsom/Pacific, 27 Bryant, and 47 Van Ness routes.
