After 152 years as a restaurant, the historic Jack's building at Sacramento and Montgomery is set to become the Financial District's next co-working space.

New York-based co-working company Bar Works has purchased the multi-story, 6,000 square-foot space for $3.55 million to become its first West Coast location, the Chron reports today.

The building's final restaurant incarnation, Jeanty at Jack's, shuttered in 2009, and the building has been vacant since. By the end of this year, it will reopen with 400 work spaces and high-speed wifi for individuals and small businesses, along with a bar and food service for clients.

Despite the inevitable makeover, Bar Works representatives have assured locals that they plan to keep the space's vintage character and historic memorabilia intact.
