Forty-six years after the San Francisco 49ers moved to Candlestick Park (and then to Levi's Stadium), the team will return to its former home at Kezar Stadium for a training camp day next Wednesday, August 10th, from 11:15am to 1:15pm.

According to SFGate, the event, which marks the team's 70th anniversary, may become a yearly occurence. Although Kezar once accommodated 60,000 screaming fans, only 9,000 tickets will be available for next week's event, which will be followed by a youth football exhibition.

There's no charge to attend, but tickets are only available via a lottery on 49ers.com. To organize the throwback practice session, the 49ers worked with the SF Chamber of Commerce, as well as SF Parks and Recreation.

"We take great pride in knowing the 49ers got their start right here in Golden Gate Park and are delighted they’re returning to inspire a new generation of fans," said Rec and Park general manager Phil Ginsberg.
