Residential burglars love quiet streets, so it's no surprise that the latest crime recap for the relatively placid Inner Sunset includes SFPD reports of multiple hot prowls, as well a daytime robbery in West Portal and a late-night mugging in Golden Gate Park.

A reminder: this month's Park Station community meeting will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 9th at 6pm at 45 Church St. between Market & Duboce Duboce & Hermann.

July 8-9

Sometime during the night, a burglar broke into an SUV parked in a driveway on Lagunitas Dr. The thief used a remote door opener stashed in the vehicle to gain entry to the garage, where the vehicle's keys were kept.

The suspect then fled with the vehicle and its contents, which belonged to a 42-year-old man.

That same evening, an unknown burglar entered a home on the 1500 block of 18th Avenue via a garage door, which was left open. The next morning, the residents, a 36-year-old woman and a 38-year-old man, noticed that "items in the garage and in her vehicle had been rummaged through."

July 20th

At approximately 7am, a 50-year-old man who lives on the 1300 block of 5th Avenue contacted police to report that his garage door was open, and two bicycles were missing. (On August 2nd, police returned to this block for two separate incidents, more below.)

July 22-23:

While a 68-year-old man slept in his home on the 1200 block of 15th Avenue, an unknown intruder entered his home and stole his garage door opener, a nail gun, a Fastrak transponder, and a bicycle. When the crime was discovered around 7:30am, the victim's garage door was open.

Around 8am that morning, a 35-year-old man who lives on the 200 block of Lawton Street discovered that his Toyota, which contained his wallet and car keys, was stolen from the garage of his apartment building. According to the victim, the theft occurred after 9:30pm the prior evening.

July 30:

At approximately 8:55pm, a 36-year-old woman and a 38-year-old man walking along Stow Lake Dr. near Martin Luther King Dr. were set upon by an unknown male who "came out of the bushes." After pushing down the male victim, the suspect struggled with the woman, took her purse and fled the area on foot. Both victims "suffered cuts to their hands."

August 1:

At 3pm, a 14-year-old girl was near 14th & Vincente "walking toward West Portal while talking on [a] cell phone" when two males aged 15-20 "approached from the side" before one of them punched her in the head "several times." Her assailant stole her mobile phone and both suspects fled on foot.

August 2:

A unknown victim reported to Park Station that a vehicle parked on the 1300 block of 5th Avenue had been tampered with around 2am. According to the report, the victim discovered that their locked car was unlocked and open "when they returned to their parked vehicle." Although no items were taken, "the incident is under investigation."

On the same day, Park Station police arrested a man on the same block, but the time was not disclosed. The "suspect was charged with violating probation and theft from a locked vehicle."
