After just a couple of years on Van Ness at Eddy, upscale Lebanese wine and tapas lounge Mazza Luna has quietly shuttered.

The restaurant's website confirms that it has indeed closed permanently, and complaints on OpenTable suggest that the team disappeared at the beginning of July. 

But Civic Center diners need not fret. The same restaurant group has filed a permit to operate Hinata Sushi in the space instead, and Yelp suggests the sushi bar could open for business as soon as Sept. 1st.
