The SFPD is urging drivers to avoid Fourth and Townsend streets, following a collision that appears to have injured a pedestrian.

According to a witness who tweeted from the scene, a woman was hit by the driver of a Toyota Prius and is stuck in the vehicle's wheel well.

Update, 11:02am: The pedestrian is on her way to the hospital, and the intersection has been reopened, according to SFPD. The condition of the pedestrian remains unclear.
