Now that the fog has rolled back in after a few days of record high temperatures, we can all begin to complain about the lack of sunshine. If you're looking for a few events to keep you busy this week, here's what's going on around the neighborhood.

First and foremost, the 43rd annual Castro Street Fair is this Sunday. As always, there will be plenty of entertainment, local vendors, food and drinks for all to enjoy. Be sure to donate at the gate, as the money supports local community groups.

Want to take a peek into the fair's past? On Friday night, the GLBT History Museum's monthly "Might Reels" will be taking a look at the early days of the Castro Street Fair, with rare videos from the event filmed in 1976-1978.

Tonight, supporters of Scott Wiener will be gathering at Beaux to celebrate the Castro's "community, leaders, performers, nightlife and venues," and raise funds for the District 8 Supervisor's State Senate campaign. But attendees can expect some feedback on Wiener, too: Gay Shame is holding a protest outside the event, arguing that he's a "racist, classist, transphobic, anti-homeless, police-loving creep who does all the bidding for white techie millionaires while everyone else is getting evicted."

In other political fundraising news, supporters of Hillary Clinton's presidential campaign are gathering for a fundraiser on Saturday afternoon at the Lookout. Speakers will include State Senator Mark Leno.

Finally, on Tuesday, Christopher Guest (Best in Show, Waiting For Guffman) will appear at the Castro Theatre for a screening of his new film Mascotswhich premieres on Netflix on October 13th. Guest's latest "mockumentary," about an awards show for professional sports mascots, includes many of his regulars, like Parker Posey, Fred Willard, and Jane Lynch, along with newcomers Chris O'Dowd and Zach Woods.
