Event Spotlight: 19th Annual Duboce Park Tag Sale This SaturdayPhoto: Friends of Duboce Park/Facebook

Saturday is set to be a busy one in the neighborhood, with an all-day tag sale in Duboce Park, followed by an evening of art and specials along the Lower Haight's retail corridor.

The 19th annual Friends of Duboce Park Tag Sale will kick things off at 9am on Saturday morning, with all proceeds from the community-powered rummage sale going to towards repainting the park's playground equipment.

But you needn't wait until Saturday morning to donate items: Volunteers will be manning the yellow rental truck parked near the basketball court from 5:30-7pm daily this week, and donations will be accepted from 7:30am up until the 9am kickoff on Saturday morning.

On the list of acceptable items are:

Cameras; jewelry; books; videos; CDs; DVDs; clothing in great condition; shoes; small appliances (irons, lamps, etc.); sporting goods; toys; bikes; linens; bedding; small, clean rugs; suitcases; purses; belts; baskets; pictures; decorative items; holiday items; pet supplies; musical instruments; tools; and kitchen wares

On the flip side, don't bother trying to offload:

Items that are stained, torn, or broken; large appliances (washers, dishwashers, refrigerators); small non-working appliances (microwaves, toasters); non-working electronics; non-digital flat screen TVs; large upholstered furniture; armoires; large rugs; medical equipment; baby cribs; bed pillows, mattresses and water beds; snow skis; oil-based cleaning supplies, paints and thinners; computers, peripherals, and manuals; auto parts and tires; sinks and showers; piping; water heaters; bath tubs; stained carpets; and infant and baby car seats.

"The event is fun for everyone and there are always unbelievable bargains that you just can't resist—all at unbelievable low prices," say the organizers. "Our popular 'hamburger stand' will once again be offering food (hamburgers and veggie burgers), drinks, and baked goods, all at bargain prices," so stop by on Saturday to browse the goods and grab a burger.

Later in the day, neighbors will have the option to transition from deal-hunting to art-walking with the return of the Lower Haight Art Walk.

Details on what's in store are scarce, but the event promises art trucks, live music, and food and drink specials. Stroll Haight Street between Scott and Webster from 6-10pm on Saturday night to take in the sights and sounds.
