With presidential campaigns capturing the headlines, it might be easy to forget that there's a local election coming up in November as well. For District 5 residents, that means a race for supervisor between incumbent London Breed and opponent Dean Preston, who'll be facing off in a public forum tomorrow evening (Thursday, Sept. 22nd).

Moderated by former Hoodliner Nuala Sawyer, the forum will allow both candidates 90 seconds apiece to answer a variety of questions on topics relevant to the district. Sawyer will ask 15 questions based on interviews conducted with both candidates, as well as suggestions from the array of neighborhood groups sponsoring the event.

If you attend, you'll also have the opportunity to jot down questions on blank cards, which the moderator will pose to the candidates towards the end of the event.

The forum kicks off at 6:30pm at the Cathedral of Saint Mary of the Assumption (1111 Gough St.), running until 8:30pm. Be sure to get there early if you want to snag a seat.

If you can't make it, look out for our recap on Hoodline, and check out this video interview with the candidates, posted last month.
