Happy Friday! Here's your roundup of what's going on in the Upper Haight over the weekend—and beyond.
First of all, don't forget that Hardly Strictly Bluegrass starts today, and traffic around and through the eastern end of Golden Gate Park and the Upper Haight will be impacted. We've got you covered with a locals-focused primer on how to plan your travels around the concerts.
This weekend also kicks off the first of three months in which the San Francisco Botanical Garden's cloud forest is in season. According to its website, the botanical garden is "one of the only botanical gardens in the world where cloud forest plants thrive outdoors, and fall is the best time to see the enchanting collection in bloom."
There's also a host of literary events next week at the Booksmith (full disclosure: this writer works there), starting with Tuesday's launch event for local author Maggie Tokuda-Hall's Also An Octopus, a children's picture book about what it takes to tell a story ... like an octopus, or a sandwich. The event is free and open to the public.
Here's your list of Upper Haight-related goings on through the weekend and beyond. As always, our full list of citywide events is at hoodline.com/events, where you can also submit events of your own.
