Get tonight's final presidential debate out of the way, then spend the rest of the week doing fun, relaxing things around your neighborhood as a form of self-care.
Supervisor Candidate Forum: Parks, Open Space & Recreation
San Francisco is renowned for its open spaces, but where does your supervisor candidate stand when it comes to protecting and expanding parks, playgrounds and other shared recreation spots?
Tomorrow night at 6pm, candidates from districts 1, 3, 5, 7, 9 and 11 will gather at the County Fair Building to discuss their plans and proposals. "Attendees will find out how the candidates plan to protect, sustain, and enrich the City’s parks, recreation and green open spaces," say organizers.
Jewish Humor and the Great Jewish Comics of the 20th Century
To say that many of the last century's leading comedians were Jewish isn't a stereotype; it's an historical fact. Mel Brooks, Carl Reiner, Joan Rivers, Don Rickles, Woody Allen, Lenny Bruce —all come from a long tradition of Jewish comedians who transformed popular culture.
On Monday at 7pm, SHARP is hosting writer-comic Steve Budd for a conversation that "traces the roots of Jewish humor." According to organizers, Budd will explain "its character with jokes and routines from the greats. Get ready to smile."
