22 residents were evacuated from the new Hunters Point Shipyard apartment complex at 401 Innes Ave., after a gas leak occurred around 3pm today. SFFD, SFPD and PG&E are on the scene, and are working with SFMTA to assist residents with water and other minor needs while they wait for approval to go back inside their homes. The public is being asked to avoid the area. 

“We should have them out sometime within the next hour," said SFFD spokesperson Jonathan Baxter, who said there are no reports of any injuries. The cause of the leak is still being investigated; we'll update this post as we learn more.
