5 Scary Ways To Celebrate Halloween In the Inner SunsetPhoto: via Barbara

Strap in and scroll all the way to the bottom: if you can't find something to do around the Inner Sunset this week, you're just being difficult.

Halloween is next Monday, which means the quiet tree-lined streets of the Inner Sunset will be overrun with shambling monsters, along with many walking pop-culture references.

Apart from candy and costumes, there's a lot going on this week: the final Inner Sunset Sunday event of the year, St. Anne of the Sunset's Parish Festival, two open studios to browse, plus author events at Green Apple Books on the Park, and this has become a run-on sentence.

Have fun, and don't eat any of that candy until it's inspected by an adult.

Inner Sunset Sunday, 10am-5pm

Inner Sunset Sunday Politik & Play is the last street fair of the year, temporarily turning Irving & 9th Ave. into a pedestrian plaza. Organized by Inner Sunset Park Neighbors and sponsored by local businesses, this event has games, crafts, food and music, as well as presentations by political candidates seeking various offices—weather permitting, of course. Take the N-Judah, 44 or 7 to get there, as parking will be nonexistent.

St. Anne of the Sunset Parish Festival, Friday-Sunday

One of the Inner Sunset's oldest festivals, St. Anne of the Sunset Parish Festival celebrates the church founded in 1904, but also offers plenty of attractions for heathens: a wine tasting, ballet, a pancake brunch, a silent auction, plus games and contests oriented at younger attendees.

Starting on Friday at 6pm and ending on Sunday afternoon, the festival can be found on 14th Avenue between Judah and Irving.

Here's a look at what else is going on around the Inner Sunset over the next week. For more activities around town, or to submit your own, visit hoodline.com/events.
