Night owls have long loved Nopa for its late-night hours, a rarity in San Francisco that sustains hungry restaurant-goers into the early morning. But today, Inside Scoop reports that the restaurant, which celebrated its 10-year anniversary this year, will move its closing time from 1am to midnight on weeknights.

Partner Jeff Hanak cited sustainability and health of the staff as the deciding factors in the decision, and noted that the restaurant will continue to serve food until 1am on weekends.

Though it's just a difference of one hour a night, the decision may come as a blow to many service industry employees, who rely on Nopa to sustain them after work in a city of dwindling late-night dining options.
