Fashion and technology collides this weekend as Betabrand hosts its second Silicon Valley Fashion Week.

This year, the three-day over-the-top runway show is being held in Mid-Market's just-launched events center Gantry, on the ground floor of the NEMA building at 10th and Market.

While some liken the event to Mardi Gras for the fashion tech industry, event organizer and Beta Brand CEO Chris Lindland tells Women's Wear Daily, "It’s an indication of the fact that we are on to something — a multibillion dollar e-commerce leader saying nope, this is real.”

With promises of drones and robots taking the stage, we stopped by Thursday's sold-out opening night for a glimpse...

The night's hosts kick things off the weekend long show with a ribbon cutting.
