There will be no shortage of fun this weekend in Bayview, as the neighborhood hosts a variety of largely free and all-ages events. Whether you’re looking for some fun in the sun or some indoor art-gazing, here's what's going on.

BayviewLIVE Festival

Earlier this month, we covered IMPRINT.CITY’s installation of nine new murals on Egbert Street. But that's just one of numerous attractions at Saturday's BayviewLive festival, which will also feature live music from Grammy-winning artist Jidenna, an interactive tech experience hosted by Airbnb and more.

Shared Schoolyards Come to Bayview

The Shared Schoolyard Project, which has been opening up schoolyards and school playgrounds across the city for public use on the weekends, is opening the doors at Charles Drew Elementary, starting this weekend.

Supervisor Mark Farrell, the Bayview Branch Library, Bayview Magic and more will be in attendance at this weekend's ribbon-cutting, with free lunch, games, horseback riding and cooking tutorials for the whole community to enjoy.

SuperHero Street Fair

The producers of the How Weird Street Fair and Decompression are inviting locals to dress up as their favorite superhero—or create their own hero look—for the 7th Annual SuperHero Street Fair. This all-ages event will feature a lineup of interactive games, artists and multiple stages with live DJs and music.

SF Open Studios Showcases Bayview Artists

In its 41st year, Artspan is known to host the largest open studios event in the nation. This weekend, 10 of those artists will set up installations in the Bayview Opera House.  Also, be sure to check out more open studios events hosted by their partners at the 3rd St. Village.

Art In a "Radioactive Swamp"

End your night at Joy Gallery’s Radioactive Art Show, which follows the legend of a “deep south” swamp that became radioactive. At the reception, you can meet the group of 20 artists behind the installation.
