Despite one residential tower's sinking and tilting dilemma, it's not all doom and gloom in SoMa's Transbay District. As Burrito Justice pointed out on Twitter this morning, the Transbay Transit Center's replica of the eastern span of the Bay Bridge is coming together rather nicely.
According to CBS, the $22 million replica isn't just for show. The ramp rising over Howard Street will connect buses traveling between the actual Bay Bridge and the future transit center. And the ramp is being constructed above ground to allow trains to connect the terminal underground in the future.
According to the Transbay Joint Powers Authority, the replica will be completed by the end of this year, before the transit center opens early next year.
