'6th & B' Brings New Breakfast, Lunch Options To Balboa StreetPhoto: Camden Avery/Hoodline

The long-vacant corner storefront at Balboa Street and 6th Avenue, formerly a print shop that shuttered after a 2012 fire, is now open for business as 6th & B, a bistro serving casual breakfast and lunch options.

The restaurant is owned by the team behind Sushi Bistro (located across the street), and offers a range of breakfast and brunch fare, including lemon ricotta pancakes ($9) and smoked salmon toast ($12). There are lunch options like baby back ribs ($15) and grilled shrimp salad ($13), and weekend brunch specials like Dungeness crab eggs Benedict ($22). There's also beer and wine, ranging from $5 to $12 a pop.

A spokesperson at the restaurant said that it's been softly open for about a month, with a grand opening likely slated for some time after New Year's. Before then, they hope to start offering dinner; according to the business's name ("Coffee Bistro/Oyster Bar"), there will be oysters.

6th & B seats around 30 people. It's currently open 7am-2pm Wednesday to Friday and 8am-3pm Saturday and Sunday; it's closed Mondays and Tuesdays.
