A police car was set on fire yesterday on the 800 block of Market Street (between Fourth and Fifth streets), after two SFPD officers exited it to conduct a foot patrol.

According to police, the officers stepped out of the car around 4pm, and the suspect, a 34-year-old male, approached the parked vehicle, opened the rear door, and lit the back seat on fire. The suspect fled on foot, but was apprehended and arrested. No one was injured in the blaze.
