Last week, the Bayview Opera House hosted a holiday tree lighting ceremony to spread cheer in the neighborhood. The event drew a healthy crowd of attendees of all ages, and featured live music performances, dancing, local food vendors and, of course, tons of photo opportunities.

Tonight, the community is gathering again for another special event: the unveiling of a holiday light installation on Third Street.

The event will take place across the street from the Bayview Opera House at 3rd St Village, located at 4716 and 1420 Third St. The light installation, produced by audio/visual company JK Sound, will light up the sidewalk in front of both storefronts with projections that shine down from their roofs.

The event starts at 5pm, and the lights will shine for the first time at 6pm.

The light installation is sponsored by Bayview Opera House, with partners Imprint.City, Andrea Baker ConsultingRenaissance Entrepreneurship Center and Mayor Lee’s Invest In NeighborhoodsA representative from Andrea Baker Consulting says the projections will shine for two to three months.

The holiday pop-up shop will be open 5-8pm every Thursday and Friday, and 1-5pm Saturdays through December 23rd.
