Vehicle Fire On Van Ness Halts Northbound TrafficPhoto: Sean I./Hoodline

Traffic on Van Ness Avenue at Eddy Street was forced to detour after a vehicle fire this afternoon.

Hoodline tipster Sean I. sent in the above photo of smoke pouring out of the vehicle, which was sitting in a northbound lane on Van Ness. He added that firefighters pulled a propane tank from the vehicle, which may have contributed to the flames.

Twitter user @Cernovich also captured a few close-up shots of the blaze:

The fire has been contained, and the SFMTA has tweeted that bus service is resuming in the area.
