This is our first crime round up for Hayes Valley and the Western Addition in some time, so we looked back to the middle of December to give you a rundown of crime and safety incidents in the area over the past few weeks.

All reports were provided by the SFPD unless otherwise noted.

Robbery At Gunpoint

Two women, ages 64 and 67, were walking on McAllister toward Franklin at 7:30pm December 31st, when a 40-year-old man approached them from behind. The suspect brandished a gun and demanded money. One of the victims complied. The suspect then fled westbound on McAllister from Franklin, where he was last seen.

Gunfire Damages Parked Vehicle

Officers responded to a possible shooting on the 1000 block of Pierce Street shortly after 3pm December 31st. They found shell casings and damage to a parked vehicle. The suspect, a 20-year-old man, fled in his vehicle eastbound on Golden Gate Avenue.

Ride-Hailing Driver Injured On Christmas Eve

On December 24th, a ride-hailing driver, 31, was waiting in his Toyota sedan to pick up a passenger on Gough and Oak when a male suspect approached his car. The suspect pulled out a handgun and fired a shot at the sedan's windshield, causing injury to the victim's face. For more information, here’s our full story

Shots Fired Into Street

Shortly after midnight on December 24th, a man, age 18 to 25, walked into the middle of the street on the 1300 block of Fillmore Street and began firing a handgun into the ground. SFPD arrived on scene and found casings, but the suspect was not apprehended. No one was injured and no property was damage.

Woman Stabbed On Linden Street

Units arrived on the scene of a stabbing on the 600 block of Linden Street at 2:20am December 17th. A 21-year-old woman was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Police officers detained the suspect, a man age 35-40.
