If you've yet to check out Maiden Lane cocktail bar Romper Room, the clock is ticking. The night of Saturday, January 28th will be your last chance to enjoy the colorful party palace, which opened in August of 2014.

Joe Garvey, the Romper Room's founder and owner, said that the end of the month will see the bar transfer to new owners. How does he feel about the change? "Never better," he said.

Garvey, who also founded the events company CLASH, says he's leaving the nightlife industry, for the time being at least, to focus on a move into commercial real estate.

Garvey said he wasn't yet at liberty to disclose the identity of the new owners, but did say they already own "a couple of bars in the city." He said he doesn't know exactly what they have in store for the space, but said that it will remain a bar of some sort.

But we can tell you that according to state permitting records, the new owner of the bar's liquor license is Anzhelika Voloshyna, who also owns the bars Topsy's (260 Kearny St.) and Playland (1351 Polk St.).

The Romper Room is offering drink specials on all its cocktails from now through Saturday night, so now's your time to stop by for one final romp.
